    • A small circular instrument (2–4mm) removes a tiny core of skin, sometimes closed with a single stitch 

    Shave Biopsy: 

    • A thin surface layer of skin is gently removed using a sterile blade, usually without stitches 

    After the procedure 

    • The area is dressed and protected 
    • Mild soreness for 1–2 days is normal 
    • Light daily activities can be resumed immediately 
    • Stitches (if used) are removed after 7–14 days 
    • Full healing typically occurs within 1–3 weeks 
    • Biopsy results are usually available within 7–14 days
